Oklahoma leaders are approving emergency funding for food assistance. The move comes as hundreds of thousands of Oklahomans have lost SNAP benefits due to the ongoing federal government shutdown. At a special meeting of the state Contingency Review Board, Governor Kevin Stitt, House Speaker Kyle Hilbert, and Senate President Pro Tem Lonnie Paxton voted to spend $1 million per week from the state's emergency fund to help cover food aid.
