The Oklahoma City Thunder continued their winning streak by defeating the Sacramento Kings 107-101 on Tuesday (October 28). Shai Gilgeous-Alexander led the Thunder with 31 points, helping the team remain undefeated with a 5-0 record. Despite a challenging third quarter where Gilgeous-Alexander went 1 for 9 from the field, he bounced back in the fourth, scoring nine points to secure the win for the Thunder.
The Thunder, one of four unbeaten teams in the league, managed to rally despite being short-handed. Forward Chet Holmgren, the team's second-leading scorer, was absent due to lower back soreness. Additionally, 2025 All-Star Jalen Williams and guard Isaiah Joe were also missing due to injuries.
The Kings led 62-58 at halftime, shooting 56.1% from the field. However, Oklahoma City took a brief lead in the third quarter before the Kings responded with an 11-0 run. The Thunder managed to regain control in the final minutes, with Lu Dort and Alex Caruso making crucial three-pointers. Gilgeous-Alexander's stepback three-pointer with 16 seconds left sealed the victory.
The Kings' Zach LaVine scored 23 points, DeMar DeRozan added 19, and Domantas Sabonis contributed 10 points and 18 rebounds. Former Thunder star Russell Westbrook, now with the Kings, scored 16 points and grabbed nine rebounds in his first start of the season.
The Thunder will host the Washington Wizards on Thursday (October 30), while the Kings will visit the Chicago Bulls on Wednesday (October 29).
