NWS Confirms Two EF1 Tornadoes Hit Mayes County Yesterday

The National Weather Service has surveyed tornado damage in Mayes County in northeastern Oklahoma following storms that hit early yesterday morning. They say two EF1 tornadoes were confirmed. One with estimated winds of 100 to 105 miles per hour hit just southeast of Pryor where it had a path of more than four miles. The other tornado had estimated winds of 105 to 110 miles per hour and began northwest of Locust Grove and had a path of more than 8 miles. The storms caused some structural damage and snapped or uprooted trees. There were no reports of injuries.
