Severe weather is expected to hit Oklahoma on Sunday (June 8), with a significant risk of damaging winds, large hail, and potential tornadoes. According to the Storm Prediction Center, storms are anticipated to form in southwest Kansas during the afternoon and move south-southeast later in the day. These storms could bring wind gusts of 80 to 100 mph, along with hail up to three inches in diameter.
The greatest risk of storms is across portions of central, west-central, southwest and southern Oklahoma, but storms are still possible in eastern sections of the state as well.
Residents in the affected areas are advised to stay informed and prepared for potential severe weather conditions, with the possibility of continued storms into Monday.
