Oklahoma's population continues to rise, reaching over 4.09 million in 2024, up from 4.05 million in 2023. This growth marks a 0.77% increase, according to the U.S. Census Bureau. Oklahoma City remains the 20th largest city in the United States, with a population of 712,919, growing by more than 8,000 residents in 2024. Oklahoma City Mayor David Holt expressed enthusiasm, saying, "People from everywhere are seeing our renaissance story and they want to be a part of it!"

Tulsa, the 48th largest city in the country, saw its largest growth since 2020, adding over 1,000 residents to reach approximately 415,000. Owasso emerged as the fastest-growing city in Oklahoma, expanding by 3.5% to nearly 43,000 residents.

Despite the population increase, the number of housing units in Oklahoma did not grow proportionally. The state had 1.8 million housing units in 2024, a 0.65% increase from the previous year, which is below the national average housing unit change of 1%.

While most cities in Oklahoma experienced growth, Lawton and Enid saw declines. Lawton lost over 400 residents, continuing a trend of population decline since 2021. Enid's population decreased slightly by about 60 people.
