The Oklahoma City Thunder aim to even the Western Conference Semifinals against the Denver Nuggets tonight (May 7) at the Paycom Center. The Nuggets lead the series 1-0 after a narrow 121-119 victory in Game 1, where Aaron Gordon hit a decisive three-pointer with just 2.8 seconds remaining.
The Thunder, who were the top seed in the Western Conference, will rely on their strong home performance, having achieved a league-best 35-6 record during the regular season. Oklahoma City is an 11-point favorite for Game 2, with the over/under set at 229.5 points, according to CBS Sports.
Denver's center, Nikola Jokic, has been a standout performer, averaging 26.2 points, 12.9 rebounds, and 9.6 assists per game in the playoffs. In Game 1, he recorded 42 points, 22 rebounds, and six assists. Meanwhile, Oklahoma City's Shai Gilgeous-Alexander has been a scoring machine, with 30-plus points in three consecutive games, including 33 points in the series opener.
The Thunder are determined to avoid a 0-2 deficit before the series shifts to Denver for Game 3. Tipoff is scheduled for 8:30 p.m. local time.
