A 13-hour standoff in Holdenville concluded with the arrest of Gerard Shane Williams on Sunday. The standoff began on Saturday evening around 5 p.m. near South Oak Street, according to the Holdenville Police Department.
The incident drew a significant police presence, including officers from the Holdenville Police Department, Oklahoma Highway Patrol, and Muskogee Creek Nation. The authorities surrounded the area to manage the situation and ensure public safety.
Williams, who had previously escaped from Shawnee Jail in 2007, was taken into custody without any reported injuries. The standoff ended peacefully, with no harm to officers or civilians.
