Police in Midwest City, Oklahoma, are investigating a homicide following a road rage incident that escalated into a fatal shooting on Saturday (April 26). Officers responded to a report of a shooting near Southeast 15th Street and Crosby Boulevard, where they found a man with a gunshot wound to the head. The victim was transported to a local hospital but was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.

The incident began as a road rage confrontation between two vehicles on Interstate 40, which continued until the vehicles stopped near Crosby Boulevard and West Rulane Drive. A fight ensued, leading to the shooting. The suspect fled the scene in a black 2016 Nissan Altima, later located at a fast-food restaurant in Del City. Police found two males and a female in the car, along with a gun, but no arrests have been made yet, as reported by KFOR.

Residents of the neighborhood expressed shock at the incident. Tim Raiber, a local resident, described the area as a typically quiet neighborhood with a mix of older residents and new families. Damiesha Jones, who lives nearby, noted the significant police presence following the incident.

The investigation is ongoing, and police are interviewing the individuals found in the Altima. Midwest City Police Chief is urging anyone with information to come forward as authorities work to piece together the events that led to the fatal shooting.
