The Oklahoma City Thunder made history on Sunday (April 20) by defeating the Memphis Grizzlies 131-80 in Game One of their first-round playoff series in Oklahoma City. The 51-point victory is the largest margin in a Game One in NBA playoff history and ranks as the fifth-largest postseason win ever. Aaron Wiggins led the Thunder with 21 points off the bench, while Jalen Williams and Chet Holmgren added 20 and 19 points, respectively.

The Thunder's defense was a key factor, holding the Grizzlies to just 34.4% shooting from the field and 17.6% from beyond the arc. Memphis struggled offensively, with Ja Morant and Marvin Bagley III tying for a team-high 17 points each. Morant shot 6-for-17, and Jaren Jackson Jr. managed only four points on 2-for-13 shooting.

Oklahoma City took control early, going on a 20-0 run in the second quarter to build a commanding 55-22 lead. The Thunder maintained their dominance, leading by as many as 56 points during the game. Despite a quieter performance from their star player, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, who scored 15 points, the Thunder showcased their depth and teamwork.

Thunder coach Mark Daigneault expects a tougher challenge in Game Two, acknowledging the Grizzlies' fatigue from a quick turnaround. The series continues on Tuesday night in Oklahoma City, where the Thunder will look to extend their lead.
