Oklahoma State advanced to the NIT quarterfinals and snapped a 10-game road losing streak with an 85-83 victory over SMU on Sunday.

The Cowboys will now face North Texas in the quarterfinals on Tuesday night.

Bryce Thompson scored 24 points and Abou Ousmane added 18, including the go-ahead basket with 34 seconds remaining. Brandon Newman scored 12 points and Arturo Dean and Khalil Brantley each handed out six assists. OSU shot 50.8% from the field, including 10-of-21 three-point range.

The Cowboys have reached the quarterfinal round in each of their last three NIT appearances and will be seeking their first semifinal since the 1944 tournament (when the bracket included just eight teams).
