Oklahoma State Wins NIT Opener Against Wichita State

Oklahoma State defeated Wichita State in the opening round of the National Invitation Tournament (NIT) on Tuesday night at Gallagher-Iba Arena in Stillwater, Oklahoma. Bryce Thompson led the Cowboys with 23 points and five steals, securing an 89-79 victory for Oklahoma State, which now holds a 16-17 record for the season.

Abou Ousmane added 13 points and five rebounds, while Khalil Brantley contributed 12 points, shooting 5 for 11, including 2 for 3 from beyond the arc. The game saw Oklahoma State take a decisive lead with Andrija Vukovic's free throw, which put the Cowboys ahead 53-52 with 12:44 left in the second half, according to Oklahoma State University.

Wichita State, now 19-15, was led by Xavier Bell, who scored 24 points. Corey Washington contributed 21 points and 11 rebounds, while Quincy Ballard finished with 19 points and 15 rebounds, as reported by ESPN.

The victory propels Oklahoma State into the second round of the NIT, where they will continue their quest for the tournament title. The Cowboys will look to build on this win as they prepare for their next matchup.
