The Kay County city of Tonkawa remains under a Civil Emergency because the water system there is currently shut down. Last week's cold snap left them with several major pipe breaks and equipment breakdowns. There are potable water trailers that have been brought in from surrounding communities, and they're staggering the refilling of the tanks so there's always one available. Bottled water is also being distributed to residents. The city says they remain on schedule to try and turn everything back on sometime tomorrow, and the basins are filling back up. In the meantime, any water residents do get out of their pipes should be boiled before use.
