A Request for Proposal by the Oklahoma State Department of Education is asking for bids to supply Bible lessons for elementary school students. The department's RFP says the lessons would integrate the Bible and character education into elementary-level socials studies classes. Proposed academic standards include an overview of world religions, as well as Christianity and the teachings of Jesus. Oklahoma Watch says the Education Department is looking for content demonstrating how biblical figures influenced the United States.
