Oklahoma leaders are reacting to the deadly attack in New Orleans. Governor Kevin Stitt wrote on social media yesterday that he is praying for those injured and for the families of those killed.
Senator James Lankford calls the attack a reminder that we have to stay vigilant. "Cindy and I are praying for the families of those who lost their lives and were injured very early this morning in New Orleans. We are thankful for the swift response from law enforcement and are praying for the two police officers who were injured. This incident is being investigated as a terrorist attack and is a reminder that we have to stay vigilant. As we step into 2025, let us pray for peace, security and strength for our nation," said Lankford.
Senator Markwayne Mullin said, "Christie and I are praying for New Orleans as they cope with last night’s horrific act of violence. We’re grateful to the local, state, and national law enforcement who are investigating and sacrificing time away from their families. God bless our friends in Louisiana."
Oklahoma Congressman Kevin Hern says the horrific and senseless act of violence struck New Orleans and shook the nation. "Join me in praying for the victims and their families. I’m grateful for the swift action of law enforcement," said Hern.
"My heart goes out to the victims of the horrific tragedy in New Orleans early this morning. Please pray for the victims, their families and the first responders. May the person who commit this heinous crime be brought to swift justice," said Representative Stephanie Bice.
"I am heartbroken to hear of the horrific attack in New Orleans early this morning. Please join me in praying for the victims of this tragedy and the law enforcement tasked with bringing us needed clarity in this dark hour," said Representative Frank Lucas.
"What happened last night was pure evil. Please join me in praying for the families, victims, and brave first responders who put their lives on the line in New Orleans during this barbaric attack. We need to ensure that those involved are brought to justice quickly," said Representative Josh Brecheen.
"Last night’s deadly attack in New Orleans is a horrifying and stark reminder that public safety can never be compromised. My heart goes out to all who have been impacted by this tragedy," said Oklahoma Attorney General Gentner Drummond.
