Oklahoma Governor Kevin Stitt is recovering following surgery on Friday after doctors found a significant blockage in a main artery.
The governor's director of communications, Abegail Cave, says Stitt underwent intravenous surgery on Friday, requiring the doctors to repair the blockage with a stent.
"He wants to encourage all Oklahomans to ensure they are getting regular check ups and to make sure they are eating healthy and exercising. He also wants to give a huge thank you to the doctors, nurses and staff at Oklahoma Heart Hospital South for their great care and expertise," said Cave.
Stitt is now back on the job and said to be feeling fine.
