The Norman area is recovering following flash flooding. Heavy rains prompted Norman police to warn people about driving on water-covered roadways yesterday afternoon. The city's Stormwater Division was asking people to report any property damage that resulted from floodwaters so they can use that information to apply for community grants.
Meanwhile, thousands of Oklahoma residents were left without electricity following weekend storms. Oklahoma Gas and Electric reported more than 5,500 customers were without power in the aftermath of the storms. Crews spent yesterday evening working to restore service to impacted homes and businesses.
