OU Falls To Tennessee 25-15

The Oklahoma Sooners struggled on offense and lost to the Tennessee Volunteers 25-15 on Saturday night.

The game marked Oklahoma’s first-ever Southeastern Conference intraleague contest.

While the offense failed to put enough points on the board, the defense played well. The Sooners held Tennessee to 345 total offensive yards, 151 rushing yards and 194 passing yards, well below The Vols’ season averages of 639.3 total yards, 336.3 rushing yards and 303.0 passing yards per game prior to Saturday night's game.

OU also held Tennessee to 6 of 19 on third downs (32%). The Sooners have held each of their last 18 opponents to a 44% or lower third-down conversion rate (dating back to the 2022 Cheez-It Bowl vs. Florida State) and has held each of its four opponents this season to a third-down conversion rate of 33% or lower.

Oklahoma goes on the road on Saturday, September 28th to play Auburn. Kickoff is scheduled for 2:30.
