An anti-tobacco group is calling on Oklahoma lawmakers to raise taxes on cigarettes. The Tobacco Settlement Endowment Trust says higher prices on cigarettes will help discourage use. Officials say a one-dollar per pack price increase in 2018 led to a 23-percent decrease in consumption of cigarettes.
