Former University of Central Oklahoma Athlete Competes In Paris Paralympics

A former University of Central Oklahoma athlete has been competing in the Paris Paralympics. 26-year-old Derek Loccident's left leg was amputated after a train accident in 2018. He competed in track and field events in Paris, coming in 4th in the Men's Long Jump, 6th in the Men's 100-meter and 10th in the Men's Javelin Throw. He played football at Westmoore High School and the University of Central Oklahoma.
