The Tulsa mayor's race will head to a runoff after none of the candidates received the more than 50% of the vote needed to win the race.
Monroe Nichols picked up 18,729 votes, which was 33.10% of the vote. Karen Keith had 18,457 votes or 32.62% of the vote. Brent VanNorman came in a close third with 18,019 votes and 31.84% of the vote.
Nichols will face Keith on November 5.
Nichols told his supporters, "I hope that you are as proud as I am and I hope you are ready to get up tomorrow and to be ready to fight and ready to knock and ready to call, because November will be here before you know it."
Keith said she believes she will win in November. "I think that I've shown this community that I know how to get things done and I think when you look at other candidates and you truly look to see what they have actually done, I think there is a deep divide," said Keith.
