Oklahoma Attorney General Gentner Drummond is calling on the Oklahoma State Department of Education to distribute school safety funds. Drummond issued the opinion after State Superintendent Ryan Walters had requested the legal opinion when reports revealed that the department was not letting schools keep unused funds from the School Security Revolving Fund. The fund was established as part of the School Resources Officer Program, and the department was ordered to distribute $50 million annually to schools over a three-year period.
