A Texas Senate committee is instructing four major tech firms to produce any documents or records related to potential election interference. The Senate Committee on State Affairs sent the document requests on Monday to TikTok, the parent companies of Facebook and Google, and X. State Sen. Bryan Hughes says the request is part of the panel's probe into social media's influence on voter opinion and possible censorship of online speech. The tech firms must comply with the requests by August 30th.
