Oklahoma State Superintendent Ryan Walters is facing increased pressure from Oklahoma Attorney General Gentner Drummond over delayed open records requests. Walters told the Attorney General's office that he had inherited a backlog from the previous administration. Drummond told Walters last month that he had received an alarming number of complaints from media organizations claiming unanswered open records requests. Walters says he is hiring additional staff to address the backlog and to meet the demand for open records.
