The CrossFit Games, which started today in North Texas, came to a halt after one of its athletes drowned during a running and swimming event in Fort Worth.
"CrossFit is deeply saddened by the death of one of our athletes in the swim portion of our event this morning," said CrossFit CEO Don Faul. "We are doing everything in our power during this tragic time to support the family, to support our community."
"We are collaborating with and working closely with the authorities on the follow on investigation," said Faul.
This is the first day of the CrossFit Games and the first time it's been held in Texas.
