The Chiefs are rewarding their star kicker with a new contract. ESPN is reporting that Kansas City is signing Harrison Butker to a four-year, $25.6 million contract that includes $17.75 million guaranteed. The new deal makes Butker the NFL's highest-paid kicker at an average of 6.4-million dollars per year through the 2028 season. The 29-year-old was 33-of-35 on field goals last season and converted all six of his attempts from 50 yards and beyond. Butker has spent his entire seven-year career with the Chiefs and has made 89.1-percent of his career field goal attempts. Kansas City visits the Jacksonville Jaguars in its preseason opener on Saturday night.
