Vice President Kamala Harris is visiting Texas today. Harris will deliver the keynote speech to the American Federation of Teachers national convention in Houston. AFT delegates voted to endorse Harris as the Democratic party's nominee for president on Monday. Harris's Houston visit will be one of her first stops on the campaign trail as a presidential candidate. Houston Mayor John Whitmire and County Commissioner Rodney Ellis met Harris when she arrived on Wednesday afternoon at Ellington Airport.
