The Diamondbacks put up five runs in the top of the ninth to rally for an 8-6 win over the Royals in Kansas City. Gabriel Moreno's two-run double made it 5-4 in the ninth and Ketel Marte tacked on a three-run homer later in the inning. Marte has now homered in all three games of the series. Eugenio Suarez, Joc Pederson and Christian Walker also went deep for the Snakes, who finished 4-and-2 on their road trip to begin the second half. The D'backs are now just a half-game out of the final NL Wild Card spot. Vinnie Pasquantino hit a two-run single in the bottom of the ninth for the Royals, who are 4-and-2 since the break. KC is clinging to the final Wild Card spot in the AL at 56-and-47. James McArthur was tagged for all five runs in the ninth to suffer his fifth blown save and fourth loss.
