Tulsa's new police chief is sworn into office. Dennis Larson becomes the city's 41st police chief. He has been with the Tulsa Police Department for 45 years.

"I don't think we've ever had someone come into the job as prepared on day one to lead the department, as Dennis Larson," said Mayor G.T. Bynum. "The heartbeat of this department beats in that man's chest."

Larson succeeds retiring Chief Wendell Franklin.
