All-Star Ketel Marte homered for the second straight night as the Diamondbacks beat the Royals 6-2 in Kansas City. Gabriel Moreno also plated a pair of runs for the Snakes, who improved to 3-and-2 since the All-Star break. Arizona remains one game behind the Mets for the final NL Wild Card spot. Jordan Montgomery tossed five innings of one-run ball in his return from the injured list. He improved to 7-and-5 with the win. Bobby Witt Jr. doubled in a run and Salvador Perez drove in a run in the ninth for KC, which fell to 4-and-1 in the second half and 56-and-46 overall. The Royals currently hold the final AL Wild Card spot. Alec Marsh allowed five runs in five frames as he fell to 7-and-7.
