San Antonio ISD board members are providing an update on their "rightsizing" plan as the new school year approaches. The board voted last year to close more than a dozen schools because of a decline in enrollment and a resulting decrease in funds. In Monday night's meeting, district officials said they've met 87% of their enrollment goals for the year ahead, and they've placed all but one of the staff members from the closed schools in new positions.
