Many Houston-area residents are still sweltering in the dark after Hurricane Beryl slammed Texas last week. As of this morning, more than 267,000 CenterPoint Energy customers were without electricity. The utility has restored power to around one-point-nine-million people since the storm hit, about 85-percent of those affected by outages. CenterPoint aims to reach the 90% mark by today. The company warns that it may take until July 19th for some areas to be restored.
