Tulsa police are investigating a drowning that happened early Friday in a pool in the backyard of a vacant house near 67th and Sheridan. Police say a 43-year-old man who lives nearby, and his friends, decided to use the pool for a small gathering. Witnesses say drugs and alcohol were consumed, and at one point the victim went underwater and did not resurface. The witnesses pulled him out of the water and began life saving measures, but were unsuccessful. Police say a full investigation is underway into the drowning and the circumstances surrounding it. The house was vacant because the owners are preparing to sell the property.
