Oklahoma's state school superintendent is requiring all public schools to have a Bible in every classroom from grades five through 12. On Thursday, Superintendent Ryan Walters announced teachers will also have to teach from the bible and incorporate it as part of their curriculum. Walters claims it's in accordance with academic standards and state law. The ACLU is already suing to block a new Louisiana law that requires the Ten Commandments to be displayed in public schools, and may do the same here. Walters says the Bible is a necessary historical document, and without it, Oklahoma students are unable to properly contextualize the foundation of our nation.
