Planned Religious Charter School Dealt Setback

A proposed religious charter school in Oklahoma is dealt a legal setback. A judge has ruled that most of the lawsuit filed to stop the St. Isidore of Seville Catholic Virtual School from opening will be able to proceed. The Oklahoma Parent Legislative Action Committee argued yesterday in Oklahoma County District Court that the school, which is scheduled to open in a few months would be discriminatory. The group also argued that the school would indoctrinate students with teachings of the Catholic religion, which they claim is illegal.
