The Tulsa, Oklahoma community is mourning the loss of one of the final remaining survivors of the Tulsa Race Massacre. Oklahoma State Representative Regina Goodwin says that Hughes Van Ellis died yesterday morning in Denver at the age of 102. Van Ellis was one of the three last known survivors of the 1921 deadly attack on Tulsa's African American community that led to the destruction of homes and businesses in Tulsa's Greenwood District, also known as Black Wall Street.
