The state of Oklahoma's new budget is officially unveiled. The $13.2 billion spending plan introduced yesterday includes more than four-billion-dollars for items including six-week paid maternity leave for state employees and the creation of a housing assistance program. A large portion of the budget is allocated for education, and up to $3,000 in tax credits will be available for people who care for a someone who is a veteran or who has dementia. The proposed budget must be passed by both legislative chambers and signed into law by the governor.
