A person of interest in the disappearance of an Oklahoma woman 25 years ago has taken his own life. Delaware County investigators say 79-year-old James Lee Sweeten died yesterday from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. He had been a person of interest in the disappearance of his first wife, Peggy Sweeten. Police in Weslaco, Texas say he called them and threatened to harm himself. When they arrived at his home, he was dead. Peggy Sweeten was 52 when she disappeared from her Grand Lake home. Her body was never found. Investigators say James Sweeten would not submit to a polygraph test or a property search.
