A group of faith leaders is urging Governor Kevin Stitt to commute the sentence of 60-year-old death-row inmate Richard Glossip. Court officials say Glossip was convicted twice of commissioning the murder of his boss, Barry Van Treese, in 1997. On Monday, state Attorney General Gentner Drummond filed a motion with the U.S. Supreme Court to stay Glossip's execution, which is set for May 18th. Officials say he was convicted primarily on the basis from testimony from a man who claimed he'd killed Treese at Glossip's behest. Glossip reportedly has maintained his innocence from the start.
