A judge is granting new State Attorney General Genter Drummond's request to delay seven upcoming executions. Drummond filed a motion last week with the State Court of Criminal Appeals asking for more time between death row executions. He said the current pace of one every month was unsustainable and a burden on DOC employees. Today's order pushes back the executions of Richard Glossip, Jermaine Cannon, Anthony Castillo Sanchez, Phillip Hancock, James Ryder, Michael Smith and Wade Lay by another 60 days.
