An Oklahoma City police officer is on paid administrative leave for discharging a weapon during a carjacking investigation.
Police were called to The Reserve at West 10th Street apartment complex yesterday afternoon to investigate a car that matched the description of a vehicle involved a carjacking. When officers approached, several people ran from the car, and one officer fired a shot after a suspect allegedly presented a threat.
No one was shot, but one suspect was struck by a less-lethal impact round, and another was bitten by a police dog.
The officer is now on routine paid administrative leave pending an investigation.
