Oklahoma State makes its third appearance in the Guaranteed Rate Bowl when it takes on Wisconsin at 9:15 p.m. CT on December 27 at Chase Field in Phoenix, Arizona, it was announced today.
The Cowboys, who finished 7-5 overall and fifth in the Big 12 standings, take on a Badgers squad that was 6-6 overall and finished fifth in the west division of the Big Ten. It is the first meeting between the programs.
Fans may request bowl tickets through the link posted at okstate.com/bowlcentral until 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, December 6. Submitting a request will provide access to the best seat locations in the OSU allotment prior to the public on-sale date. Locations will be allocated to those who submit a request in POSSE priority order, and then on a first-come, first-served basis for non-POSSE members. If any seats from OSU's allotment remain after requests are fulfilled, they will go on sale Wednesday, December 7, at 10 a.m. A limited quantity of specially priced tickets for students who hold All Sports Passes will also go on sale at that time.
OSU is making its 17th consecutive appearance in a bowl game, which is the sixth-longest active streak in the nation. Among the 40 FBS teams with a minimum of 30 bowl appearances, Oklahoma State ranks No. 1 with a .656 winning percentage. The Cowboys have won five of their past six bowl games, most recently handing Notre Dame a 37-35 defeat in the Fiesta Bowl last season.
This year's matchup marks OSU's third appearance at the Guaranteed Rate Bowl, as the Cowboys defeated Indiana, 49-33, in 2007 and beat Washington in 2015, 30-22. It marks the second appearance in the game for Wisconsin, who defeated Utah, 38-10, in 1996.
