The Oklahoma Court of Criminal Appeals is denying a death row inmate's application for a new hearing. The application was filed on behalf of Richard Glossip to consider new evidence in the 1997 murder case against him. Several Oklahoma lawmakers have support the call for the hearing, citing claims by witnesses that Glossip did not take part in killing Barry Van Treese. Glossip's attorney said the ruling is a "difficult decision to understand," but noted a second petition to the court is still pending.
