A group seeking to raise Oklahoma's minimum wage says it has gathered twice as many signatures as it needs to put the issue before voters. Raise the Wage Oklahoma says nearly 180,000 people signed its petition, which seeks to get the issue on the ballot.
"We've delivered signatures from all 77 counties in the state," said Amber England with the 'Raise the Wage' campaign,
If approved by voters, State Question 832 would immediately raise the minimum wage to 9 dollars an hour, and then it would gradually increase to 15 dollars an hour by the year 2029. Future increases would be tied to the cost-of-living index.
