A Tulsa police officer is being placed on restricted duty for comments he made about the 2020 George Floyd protests. 2 News Oklahoma reports the officer was recorded saying that the demonstrations were "fun" for Tulsa police, and compared the law enforcement response to the protests to "spanking a bunch of unruly kids." The officer, only identified as a sergeant, made the remarks while acting as a supervisor during the department's Citizen's Police Academy training. Tulsa police chief Wendell Franklin said he was "deeply disappointed" in the sergeant's comments, and that other police personnel present during the incident will be held accountable if they "failed in their duties."
