Tulsa's mayor is proposing a sales tax increase. Mayor Monroe Nicholas is planning to ask city councilors this week to approve a February 2026 special election for a .7% tax increase. Nicholas says if approved, the tax increase would generate an additional $80 million for the city's general fund.
