Oklahoma Death Row Inmate John Hanson Granted Temporary Stay Of Execution

A temporary stay of execution is granted for an Oklahoma death row inmate. John Hanson was convicted in the 1999 carjacking and murder of Mary Bowles and the murder of bystander Jerald Thurman. Oklahoma County Judge Richard Ogden granted the temporary stay of execution yesterday, and Hanson's attorneys filed a lawsuit last month asking for a new clemency hearing. Hanson was scheduled to be executed on Thursday.
