The Texas Longhorns softball team has won its first-ever NCAA Championship. The Longhorns took down the Texas Tech Red Raiders 10-to-4 in Game Three of the Women's College World Series at Devon Park in Oklahoma City on Friday night. Texas opened up the game with a five-run first inning followed by a grand slam in the fourth inning and took a ten-to-nothing lead into the fifth inning. The Red Raiders scored three runs in the fifth inning and one in the seventh to avoid a shutout. Pitcher Teagan Kavan was named the Most Outstanding Player after pitching all seven innings and allowing no earned runs.
