The City of Tulsa is warning residents about scam text messages threatening driver's license suspension for unpaid tickets. The messages claim to be from the "Oklahoma Department of Vehicles" and include a fake link. Residents are advised to verify information independently through official channels before taking any action in response to unsolicited text messages. Scammers use urgency and threats to trick victims into making immediate payments without thinking through the situation properly. The "Oklahoma Department of Vehicles" is not a legitimate government agency, and officials say residents should be cautious of such fraudulent messages.

The FBI and Federal Trade Commission are involved in investigating the scam, and the public is urged to be cautious and not click on any links in such messages.
