A state House joint resolution would affect how companies use eminent domain to take private property. Representative Molly Jenkins of Coyle says the measure came about because landowners in her district told her they felt pressured to relinquish their property for the construction of a transmission line tied to federally subsidized green energy projects. If voters approve the resolution, energy companies would have to negotiate directly with property owners and prohibit wind energy companies from using eminent domain to built wind turbines.
