A petition to bring a $1 billion entertainment district in Norman to a public vote is moving forward. Norman City Clerk Brenda Hall announced yesterday the referendum petition gathered more than 10,000 signatures, which exceeded the requirement by roughly 4,000 signatures. The petition was filed after the Norman City Council voted to approve the creation of a tax increment financing district for the new entertainment district and arena. If the petition is determined to be sufficient, the question will be on the February 11th, 2025, ballot.
